According to the Islamic calendar, Eid al-Adha is celebrated on the 10th of Dhu-al-Hijja, the 12th month. This date comes about 70 days after the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Importance of Eid al-Adha

The day of Eid al-Adha is the day of Farz-e-Qurban. There is a tradition in Islam to take special care of the poor and the downtrodden.

For this reason, special attention is also given to the poor on Eid al-Adha. On this day, three parts of meat are performed after the sacrifice. Out of these three parts, one part is distributed for themselves, and the remaining two parts are distributed among the poor and needy people of the society. 

By doing this, Muslims promise that we sacrifice everything in the path of Allah for the betterment of others.

Difference between Eid and Eid al-Adha

The festival of Eid comes at the end of the month of Ramadan. Ramadan is considered the holiest month of Islam.

In this, Muslims have to keep 30 fastings, and then Eid is celebrated by looking at the moon. In a way, Eid is a festival celebrated in the joy of completing 30 days. 

Seviyan is made on this occasion, but the food made from the meat itself is served on Eid al-Adha. Eid al-Adha is also called Bakrid in India.

Story of sacrifice

There is a sense of sacrifice here. Actually, the background of this festival is a sacrifice. 

If Hazrat Ibrahim was not willing to sacrifice his son in his path to fulfill the will of Allah, then perhaps the tradition of celebrating this festival would not have started.

Hazrat Ibrahim was a person dedicated to Allah, who was willing to make any sacrifice to fulfill his wish. It is said that once Allah wanted to test him and accordingly Hazrat Ibrahim was ordered to sacrifice his most beloved thing in the path of Allah.

Hazrat Ibrahim decided to sacrifice his son in the path of Allah. During the sacrifice, the son's love does not dominate, so he tied his eyes. 

Taking the name of Allah, he stabbed him on the neck. When he opened his eyes, he saw his son standing next to him and in his place, Dumba (goat-like beast) was sliced. For this reason, Qurbani or sacrifice started in the way of Allah.
